My Plan B is...

Bronchitis!

Yes, folks, as I mentioned previously, something usually happens to sabotage my weight control. For the past week I've been feeling under the weather. So on Saturday I broke down and went to a doctor. (This was after I had coughed up a "hairball" according to my daughter.) The diagnosis was Bronchitis - so I got antiboitics and some cough syrup that has codine in it or something.

Thanks to Miga - I was able to figure out how to dose the stupid thing!

Anywho -- I've been drinking tons of water, and I'm sure that's part of the reason why I lost weight. I'm going to keep doing that.

I've decided for Lent, I'm going to give up fast food. I think that could work. Not only will it save my waistline, but in my wallet (er, Chad's wallet) as well.

My Update

I really don't like the dieting thing. I've never really been successful; that could be because I've never really tried. Anywho... I've signed up for this thing at the gym. They give you gym dollars for every pound lost, or every class attended. Check ins are each week. Of course, since we've had a bunch of ice and snow dumped on us this past week, I haven't been able to get out much. I usually go on my lunch break, but with Izzy home this week, another reason why I haven't been able to go. I have all of these great plans, but sometimes it's so frustrating when they don't fall through.

So off to plan B.

With Lent coming up, and dress fittings soon, my plan B should fall together.

I don't have a Plan C yet, so it better!

Holiday Aftermath!

Well, I didn't do as badly as I thought, I only put on two pounds. Not bad for being in potato chip mode the last couple of weeks. I'm making an effort to eat at least something for breakfast, keeping it to oatmeal or yogurt. I'm already down 14 pounds....so I should be able to do another 14, but it certainly is going to take some effort!

Stuck on 16

I've been at the 16 pound mark now for a couple of weeks. Not sure what is going on here! Can't seem to get that extra pound and start again.

I must admit, I did get soooooo hungry for cherry pie, I bought a half a pie....and yes, ended up eating the whole thing. Yikes. But, I got it out of my system. D-Dog and I are walking again, hopefully a bit every day. Today was wonderful for a walk, since it was cool and sunny. Perfect walking weather.

I haven't seen any posts from you!!! I need encouragement! You keep up at the gym!

Ten....OK!!

Now, if I can just keep this up. Hopefully, by next week I'll be able to start my walking again. Between my ankle and my back, August was NOT my month.

I'm not really dieting; I'm more or less just eating when I'm hungry. I am concentrating on fruits, veggies, yogurt and the like. So, sometimes I end up with 5 or 6 small meals and not two or three big ones. I'm also downing the Diet Coke and Crystal Light, so I'm getting lots of fluids. I try to eat nothing at all, after my last meal of the day. I think that is really helping.

Stick with the gym, Daughter! I know you will see an improvement!

Still Working on my Fitness

So I joined a gym... it's very close to the house and the people are super-nice and encouraging. I'm able to go and workout for a bit on my lunch break.

Today, I did the elliptical and it kicked my butt - ugh, but I guess that's a good thing.

They do have free classes so once I get a yoga mat, I'll probably start doing yoga once or twice a week!

Fruits and Veggies

I've really been trying to hit the fruits and veggies, which is nice because watermelon and cantalope are great now. I'm also really trying to limit the carbs. I haven't had chocolate for three weeks now! I'm up to six pounds, but I think that is mostly water and now the real challenge begins. The ankle is all better, so, I'll start my walking again.
